Vintage Sherpa
This sweater was creating using a thrifted teal crew-neck sweater as a pattern. I kept some of the original pieces, but added my own dyed sherpa panels. This was one of my first attempts at dyeing clothing, so I reluctantly chose synthetic dyes for an introduction to the process. I went for a vintage-esque colour palette, and added a much higher collar to the neck. This project pushed my focus towards sustainable fashion design, as this was created with chemical fibre-reactive dyes. This piece gave me the challenge to use natural dyes to my advantage, and see what was possible while respecting the environment.
